New Amsterdam Bike Slam is an initiative of Amsterdam Cycling to Sustainability, produced by Vélo Mondial and Transportation Alternatives, with funding from Transumo and the City of Amsterdam.





Shin-pei Tsay is the Deputy Director of Transportation Alternatives where she focuses on pedestrian advocacy, public health/active living research and urban design best practices in addition to overall management of the staff. She has improved public spaces of cities for several years with experience on public plazas, integrated transportation and land-use planning, and urban design; she was a finalist in the Design Trust for Public Space's international competition, "Reinventing Grand Army Plaza." Shin-pei holds a MS in Cities, Space and Society from London School of Economics and Political Science, and a BA from Cornell University.




Paul Steely White is the Executive Director of Transportation Alternatives. He is an internationally known transportation advocate who previous to joining T.A. in 2004, worked for seven years as regional director for the New York based Institute for Transportation and Development policy. He has a BS in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and received his MS in Environmental Science from the University of Montana in Missoula.




Pascal J.W. van den Noort is the Executive Director of Velo Mondial, the premier global sustainable mobility and cycling network, and is the founder of Velo Mondial's "Amsterdam Cycling to Sustainability" initiative. He is also a partner in CIVITAS MIMOSA, one of Europe's flagship projects in sustainable mobility. Prior to Velo Mondial, he was the founding Executive Director of the Dutch AIDS Foundation, as well as of the Global Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+). Pascal is a Member of the Advisory Board of the World Carfree Network and serves on the board of the foundation "In The Footsteps Of Mandela." He is a correspondent to World Streets and a member of the International Advisory Council to The New Mobility Agenda.
